CDR Yamaha Welcomes Sitrak Australia
The Monster Energy CDR Yamaha team has partnered with international trucking giant, Sitrak, in a long-term arrangement that will see the big rig hauling around the team transporter to motocross and supercross events around the country.

The Sitrak G7S 540hp 6x4 Prime Mover will grace the front of the CDR team trailer and the G7S positions itself as a highly competitive, tech-heavy workhorse in the Australian heavy-duty market. Merging European-derived driveline engineering with a high-spec standard feature list, it delivers an impressive balance of lower tare weight, high productivity, and driver comfort.

Its striking appearance will turn heads on the road and at the track with the team racking up 60,000 kilometres per year contesting the Australian Motocross and Supercross championship.

“It’s exciting to welcome Sitrak on board and start a new and long-term relationship with a great company. They will be a huge addition to the team and knowing we have a luxurious, high-performance truck at our disposal takes the stress away in getting to and from events around Australia.

“When looking for partners, we look for the people, products and companies that match the philosophy of CDR and Sitrak is certainly that. Our first contact revealed we had a lot in common in how we go about things and the enthusiasm Sitrak showed to work with CDR was off the charts.

“Gary will be the envy of all the drivers in the new Sitrak G7S and was super impressed with the truck’s performance on the maiden trip to Toowoomba. Gary has a high benchmark with the performance of things, and he had nothing but praise for the Sitrak after Toowoomba,” CDR team owner, Craig Dack said.

The five-year partnership signed is a comprehensive package that sees them enter the motorcycle racing market for the first time. The truck will not only be used at racing events but also on display at truck and heavy vehicle Expos in Australia and show case the performance and quality of Sitrak.

“We have a passion for motor vehicles and motorsport and working with CDR Yamaha, allows us to combine those two elements. Craig and his team have long been the benchmark in Australia motocross and supercross racing and his loyalty to sponsors is second none. We are proud of this partnership and look forward to working with CDR Yamaha and exceeding their transport needs for years to come,” explains Brock McGarity from Sitrak Australia.

With Jed Beaton leading the ProMX Championship and Aaron Tanti inside the top three, Sitrak joins the Monster Energy CDR Yamaha team at the perfect time.

ProMX Privateer Power
Despite the thick, muddy racing surface and the morning drizzle, Yamaha privateer riders again acquitted themselves well in a tough day's racing at round five of the ProMX championship at Appin.

In the premier MX1 class, Levi Rogers and Luke Zelinski continue to post top 10 results and the Appin weekend was no exception. Rogers came out swinging and showed plenty of speed in the morning sessions posting the fourth fastest lap in practicer and then backed that up with a fourth place in the Superpole, equally his qualifying best.

His two motos were polar opposite. Race one was a charge from the back that saw him move through the pack to finish an eventual ninth, while race two had Rogers as high as third in the early going before he slipped back late in the race to again finish ninth. And oddly enough, his 9-9 results netted him ninth for the round.

Zelinski slotted in behind him in tenth for the round with 10-10 results. Zelinski’s consistency has him in eighth in the championship after five rounds and not far away from the riders ahead of him.

In the MX3 division, Hayden Downie had another exciting day with a third place for the round. He finished fifth in race one and suffered from a couple of falls in the sticky mud but turned it on in race two to win the race with a last lap pass.

Downie was leading on the opening lap but crashed at the tracks highest point. Fortunately, he didn’t lose many positions and was instantly back in second place after getting back into the race. From there, he slowly but surely wound in the race leader before making his move on the final lap to secure his second podium position and third race win in MX3 from the last four races.

Yamaha World Wrap
# Carter Thompson made a couple trips to the podium at round five of the World Superbike Championship at the Misano Circuit in Italy. On board his BR Corse Yamaha R7, Carter charged to 3-2 results on the weekend in another solid outing for the Australian rider.

# Levi Townley’s season continues to improve with a dominant display at the final round of the French Elite Championship. Townley won both motos contested on his MJC Yamaha YZ125 and appears to be heading towards the kind of form that made him the 2024 World 85cc Motocross Champion.

# Kayden Minear showed some impressive speed at round three of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Thunder Valley in the USA. Minear finished eighth overall for the round in the 250cc division with 13-6 results. After three rounds he now sits in eighth place and trending in the right direction with 12-10-8 in the opening rounds.

# Tayla Collins was back in action at Misano with the next round of the FIM World WCR championship. It was an emotional weekend at the office for Collins, with high vibes after posting a ninth in race one and within sight of the podium, only to be an innocent victim of another rider's mistake in race two which resulted in a DNF.

# Injury update: YJR guns Heath Davy and Lachlan Allen both suffered injuries at the Toowoomba round of the ProMX and looking at some time on the side lines. Davy suffered a broken bone in his lower leg and will be off the bike at least until the final two rounds of the championship while Allen will also be off for a similar time with some fractures in his back. We hope to see both riders back in action when they are fit and ready to go.
